Photography has long been an important tool in documenting our life and times. See what this, often brave (or stupid) catch bare witness and photographers with their cameras for the world to see./PPDocumentary photography has also historically played a role in social change. You just have to think about the images of the starving children in Africa to realize that is true. Only after the images on the media show up, did the world take notice and do something to help./PPSo do your part-go see the winning images. Really look at them. Not only for their technical and artistic qualities, but look at the meaning of those images.
